It’s okay to be nervous about starting university! Just remember that every first year is in the same boat as you (we were too!) Woodsworth College is an excellent choice because it hubs such a diverse group of students- we assure you that you are not alone!
Woodsworth College Orientation Week is a week of both social and academic programming that will help you transition into the University life, as well as make new friends along the way! Check out our about page to learn more!
100% ! Woodsworth Orientation Week isn’t just about partying, but having fun with a mixture of diverse events catered to your personal preferences. We will have everything from club nights, to trips around the city, to WOLF workshops (find our more here). It’s also a great way to get familiar with the UofT campus and speak to upper year students. Most importantly, we’re also going to help you get acquainted with your new home, “the six” aka Toronto. We promise there is something for everyone and that this is one week you won’t want to miss!
Our Orientation Week is incredibly diverse. We pride ourselves on having an open and inclusive space! You will meet people from all over the world and most people coming into university don’t know anyone. Just remember that everyone is new and this is a great event to meet new people and have some fun before school starts! We promise you’ll find a friend before you know it.
Yes! We offer several meals throughout the week. Stay tuned for the schedule to find out which meals we will be providing. (The food will be AWESOME). Bring money for the meals we aren’t providing, you’re in the heart of Toronto there will be something for everyone! Your orientation team is happy to provide everyone with their favorite spots around UofT if you can’t decide what to eat. (We know how overwhelming the all the options can be)
You have no need to worry! When you register for Orientation Week there will be an option for you to tell us your dietary restrictions. As long as you provide us with this information, we will have the right food options for you during the week!
Update: The August 15th add-on deadline has passed and we are unfortunately no longer offering residence add-ons at this time.
We’re partnering with Woodsworth Residence to offer a commuter add-on option for our incoming students. Limited spots will be offered for non-residence students to stay in the residence for the week. This is a great option to meet more people and be closer to all the action for a week!
If you prefer to commute from home, we also have a commuter-friendly schedule with alternative evening options for you to be able to get home while still participating in our activities! Fun fact: One of your Orientation Coordinators commuted from two hours away during her Orientation Week and still does! So, it is very possible to commute from home and still enjoy the week!
Absolutely. Woodsworth College offers a program for those who would like to participate in orientation but require some financial assistance. If it is going to be challenging for you to pay for Woodsworth Orientation, please feel free to contact Christina Alcena, Student Life Coordinator, Office of the Dean of Students (firstname.lastname@example.org) to learn more about the possibility of receiving a bursary to cover the cost of the week. Please note: you will still be required to pay in advance and have the potential to be reimbursed following an application process.
Yes of course! If you require certain services or accommodations during orientation week, please provide us with the information when you register. You are also more than welcome to email email@example.com to speak with the Orientation Coordinators to discuss appropriate arrangements. Woodsworth College also has elevators and gender neutral bathrooms within the facility for those who require the use of these services. Our schedule page has further information regarding specific events. If there are specific events that we can help make more comfortable for you, please feel free to reach out as well. Shaver is our main Wolf! You’ll be seeing him all over the college throughout Orientation Week- take a picture with him and get loud because he loves to rep Woodsworth!
